What Does the Rotary Club of Croydon & Montrose Do?

  • Rotary Club of Croydon & Montrose October 2020
  • Supports local and international community based organisations
  • Organises fundraising events to further worthy causes
  • Provides the opportunity to make a difference in the community
  • Develops friendships and shared experiences
  • Contributes to the worldwide Rotary Polio Immunisation Program for children


  • Support organisations aimed at decreasing Domestic Violence
  • Partner with Victoria Police to fund a Community Proactive Policing Vehicle
  • Establish Joint Venture partnerships with Helping Hand Foodbank, City of Wellbeing and Montrose Men’s Shed projects


Youth Personal Development

  • Co-ordinate the annual Primary Schools Speech Contests for up to 18 local Primary Schools in the Croydon and Montrose areas
  • Conduct in conjunction with Toastmasters and Melba College, the Four-Way Test Speaking Contest for Secondary students
  • Sponsor at least four students (2 teams) each year to participate in the Rotary Model United Nations (MUNA) Assembly at Parliament House
  • Continuing to support the Rotary funded Eastwood Primary School literacy program, with Rotarians and friends assisting with reading sessions
  • Together with the Rotary Club of Maroondah, we deliver the ANZAC Day Primary Schools Service at Ringwood Lake

Health & Wellbeing Programs

  • Funded over $150,000 to the Kidney Health Australia Big Red Kidney Bus – to allow for Dialysis patients to have a holiday at popular destination

Scholarships & Awards

  • Sponsor Scholarships for the Swinburne University Young Mums Program
  • Sponsor students to the Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN)
  • Sponsor young adults to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)– an inspiring leadership opportunity
  • Rotary Kevin Heinze Community Award – recognising an exceptional volunteer in the community

International Projects

  • Sponsor secondary and tertiary education at All Angels School at Senga Bay, Malawi plus support a community development program
  • Support the Aussie Kenya Community Organisation to build and maintain a school in N’Gope, Kenya
  • Contribute to the “Back to School” project of with the Rotary Club of Subang, Malaysia which directly improves the lives of children in need
  • Assist in times of international disasters with support for relief through Shelterbox Australia
  • Facilitate significant philanthropic donations to international aid programs

The Rotary Club of Croydon & Montrose usually meets at: Dorset Gardens Hotel at 335 Dorset Road, Croydon, on Tuesday evenings at 6.00pm for 6.30pm.
